When the waters of the Great Flood subsided
And resumed their familiar shape once more,
As the wild foam’s flow finally divided,
Love came creeping quietly to shore
And dissolved in the air until the day appointed -
Forty times forty days before.
And the oddballs - oh there are still some, yes,
They breathe this heady mix into their chests.
They expect neither pleasure nor pain.
They just think that they are simply breathing
But they’re caught in the rhythm they’re feeling
And their breath becomes uneven again.
But a feeling, like a ship on the sea
Must stay floating for some time.
Until you come to realize that "I love" must be
The same as "I breathe" or "I’m alive."
There’ll be many an adventure and quest -
The land of love stretches far and wide.
Every knight faces test after test
And challenges each step of the ride.
They’ will deprive him of both peace and rest.
They will tear him asunder and divide.
But you can’t turn the crazy from their way;
You know already that they’ll pay
Any price - they’d give their lives up gladly.
They’ll never let go, nor be torn away
From the magical threads that stay
Stretched out between them so sadly.
Ihe fresh strong air - it made the chosen drunk.
It knocked them off their feet and raised the dead
If you’ve never loved you’re truly sunk.
No, you’ve never lived nor breathed nor bled.
But most of those who love have truly drowned -
Well, you can’t reach them, no matter how you try.
You keep count of them by gossip going round,
But the count is mixed with blood you can’t deny.
Well put candles on their beds and all around
When from unrequited love they come to die...
In one rhythm, their voices will unite
And their souls will walk through flowers bright!
They will share a single breath with eternity.
Yes, they will meet together with a sigh
On fragile bridges and ferries by moonlight -
On the universes narrow crossroads, they’ll be.
I will lay fields for those who are in love
Let them sing asleep or awake - let them thrive!
I am breathing, and this means - I love.
I love and this means - I’m alive!
