They keep telling us sincerely "Without you, we will die bored" We go everywhere together, we three. It’s nonstop singing, chord by chord! Without us, you can’t celebrate a birthday Without us, you can’t get wed. Now we’re off to bring joy again in our way To a new housewarming spread. We’re struggling every day to find a minute To drink with this crowd, to sing with that If we had a week with eight days in it We’d still have no time for a chat! Yes we’re getting by but he’s in poor health - He should eat, and sleep away But you can’t manage without us - what else? What else can we say?1
1 It echoes the Tatyana’s letter to Onegin in Pushkin’s "Eugene Onegin".
